I'm looking at buying a new blower which blower would you'll recommend?
Handheld or Back Pack?
What dealers do you have in your area?
What do you see other landscapers using?
Me personally I would look at Echo,Red Max &Shindaiwa those seem to be the big 3. You could also use the search feature this topic has been talked about more times than I can remember. And all the info you find should keep you busy reading for a few days.
If backpack, get the Redmax 8000. Just got mine last thursday. So much power, great blower. If you want one, call travis at landscape supply.
I try to buy REdmax when I can. There stuff never lets me down.
DON'T bother with a handheld, jmho. Most commercial blowers are very similar, go with what your nearest dealer who you like dealing with carries.
I have had great experience using Echo backpack blowers.
redmax or shindaiwa
my echo pb650 is awsome, better then my stihl 420. Dont have expirence with redmax...
Echo very reliable, but then again I havent really used others.
The differences between top end blowers of each manufacturer are more cosmetic or user preference.
The big blowers from Stihl, Redmax, Shindiawa are all good blowers, Echo as well, but I personally have had problems with them, but know others who love them.
The most important thing is to match the blower to your usage. The Redmax 8000 might be the strongest thing out there. Do you do a lot of leaf work or sweeping parking lots? If not you can probably save $100-150 per unit by getting something less and also save on weight and fuel consumption.
For my mow and blow company I will be buying Stihl BR 340's because they are $100 cheaper than the BR420 and work just fine for blowing off driveways and that is all the will ever be used for.
