For me, considering the soils and climate I work with, it is too much water that really shows up big time,, when attempting to improve the turf with natural lawncare...
I don't even bother with those lawns...

What other problems need to be corrected before natural lawncare can be implemented???

Attempting to grow healthy turf in the face of counter-productive practices,,, makes everyone look bad... :)

Fertilizing too often and too early, as part of a bridge pogram is also counter productive, in that it grows living thatch...

organic fertilizers are not so touchy about being "too early" becuz they won't do much until the soil warms up anyways... then it tends to feed a microbrial system that builds a structure bringing the nutrients deeper into the soil profile... just the OPPOSITE of thatch... :)
