newer kohlers are are not good anymore and no support or help if their motors go bad, cannot justify buying anymore kohlers!

Let me hear from some more people. I need good power for the mower, and one that will last a long time with no problems. Please vote... I am going for the kaw so far.

I don't know very much about the new FX kawi engines but I liked their old engines. I have a 25 Kohler command on my Bobcat ZTR and it has some power but it has some quirks. One thing I dislike about the Kohler engines is the how the starter solenoid is built in to the starter motor. Cheap part to replace when its on the frame of the mower, but when it fails and its hooked to the starter, its a lot more of a pita. My Kohler 25hp is very good on fuel though..

I've got a 23 Kohler that is all but bullet proof.

Quite frankly I think that you're using too much muscle on your 52".

My Ferris Z has the CH23 and I couldn't be happier.

I've had it cut material much greater than even I expected it could do efficiently. It just grunted and kept on cutting.

Great engine.....now if I could just get those Ferris engineers to begin putting their zerk fittings in an easier position to fill joints. Grrrrrrrr
