Which Exmark walkbehind?

Discussion in 'Lawn Mowing' started by kyfireman2004, Mar 4, 2008.

  1. I am buying an turf tracer hp exmark walk behind in the next week or so. Which one would you buy and why?
1st.... 48in or 52????? Will the 52 still go through the backyard gates?

2nd 17 hp pull start or 19 electric start? Any problems with the electric start?

    Thanks......

Depends on the gate. A 48 wont go though a 48" gate cause the mower is more like 49" +/-. It really depends on your property sizes. When people ask me about there new fences I make sure they either go double gate or at least a 56". We also have a 32" for those pesky 36" gates. Same rule applies the mower is always bigger than the gate.

hey, i just bought a 19hp electric start tthp. i think you will like it. there was only around a 400 dollar difference to upgrade from the 17 recoil to the 19 electric. i think the actual dimensions on the 48 is 48.1" so you might be able to squeeze it inton back yards with the chute up. anyway, goodluck.

How wide is the average gate? I've been going back and forth between a Exmark 36" and the 48". For now it would be our only mower, besides a 21", and there will only be one guy on the "crew" for now. Not to highjack the thread, but what do you guys think for a first mower, 36" or 48"?

We have 48" Turf Tracers with Sulkies and I'm 240 lbs plus and they pull me fine. We've never had an issue. I don't think you'll see a major difference between the 17 and 19 HP.
Great mowers!!! BEST IN THE FIELD IN MY OPINION
