I was at my two local dealers today. One had a new, Exmark hydro 15hp kaw. 48" walkbehind with pistol grips and floating deck for $3700. I didnt know if this was a good deal but it seems good. The other had a bobcat walkbehind 48" deck 15hp kaw. for $2500 (beltdrive). Now i know there is no way to compare the two because one is hydro, but does anyone know if that is a good deal because then i'll jump on the hydro instead of the belt. One more question, do the pistol grip exmarks have a reverse or no. I want to put a castering sulky on it, and i WANT a hydro with reverse :cool2:

I don't think you would be happy with the pistol grips. My dealer doesn't even bring them in, they just aren't very comfortable, go with the ECS. Hydro vs Belt, of course you know the answer to that question.

Agreed...ECS is great. '04 Viking (hydro/fixed 15/48 kohler) here is 3800.00 with ECS.

make sure it's a hydro, that sounds like a belt drive price. other wise it's a good deal, I bet he can't give those pistol grips away on a exmark :p

Go with the eXmark, by far. The $$$ difference will be well worth it.

It could be the real price it may be brand new but it sounds like the exmark is 3-4 years old I do not think exmark has made hydros with thos handles in quite some time.

You can get the eXmarks either way. The ECS is a $200 to $300 option. So you can add it on later.

It was in the catalogue last year and I inquired about it in March and was told no more were being built. I tried for months to get one but no luck so I doubt its last years or this years. When I spoke to Terry from exmark on their forum he pretty much told me they do not want to offer anything but ECS anymore.

    Sheee... 2005 48" T-bar/fixed Gear-drive 15hp Kohler Toro is 3000...
3300 w/ the velke, which you need if you plan on using it at its rated speed of 6.2mph

Why does everyone go with the crap, why no Toro folks?
