They're all good trimmers as far as I am concerned. I have used all but tanaka. Stihl is a little heavy as well as Shindaiwa, but they both last a long time. I am currently using shindaiwa and am very happy. I use this brand b/c there is a dealer close by that services and sales them. That is one of my main considerations when buying equip.

Echo.....just bought my second PAS-260 w/ string trimmer attachment, picking it up Thursday. In 3 years, I've never a problem with the first one. Need the second for cemetery work. I have all Echo equipment.

ECHO I got a ton of them. I also have one tanaka. The ECHO smokes everything. I got a PB400E blower that is 14 years old and another that is 8 or 9 years old (bought it used at a pawn shop) They just keep running and running.

The SRM2601 or the PAS 260 are great choices.

My guys just called and they snapped the shaft in half on 1 of my 4 Echo's. I made my money off of it though. It has been used now for 7 years.

I use Stihl FS85's. They have served me well for many years without any problems.
