We are adding a 72 this season and I'm looking for decent bang for the buck. This will be a crew machine so extra comfort/power is not really necessary as much as simplicity/durability (idiot-proof).

The lazer AS prices out nicely at about $9400 with the 28 kawi and no-flat front tires.

Also cub cadet is selling the m72 tank with 37 kawi and a little more speed for $9499 with either the new or old deck.

I know ferris was selling is3100's with the 32 briggs for under $10,000 last year but now I'm told you need to pay over $11,000 for the 37 kawi model and the briggs is no longer available with a 72inch deck.

Anything else come in at or under $10,000?

Anyone have experience with the exmark AS series or the cub m72?

Both of those mowers are good but the Lazer AS comes with the UltraCut deck which many people still consider to be the best cutting deck anybody has ever made.

Do you have any gravely dealers around you? If you do I would say go take a look at the 272XDZ. XDZ stands for extra durability zero turn. They are built extra heavy duty and are intended for companys that have crews that beat the ever living you know what out of equipment. Plus the X-Factor deck gravely has is absolutely amazing. It does not clog or gum up at all and leaves a great cut in every condition you can throw at it. Might cost a couple bucks more but in the long run you may be glad you spent the extra money.

the tank is the best deal. Scag is going to be more than 10 large. Bad boy won't work. So that is about it.

Looking at the 30/66 hustler super z too---my guess is it will run with a 72inch machine plus promo looks to be right at $9000. The deck has to produce an acceptable cut though.

I had the Lazer 72" LC with a 27HP Kawi and it had plenty of power. That thing wouldn't quit.

I have been looking at another 72" and I am probably going with a Country Clipper EFI! I know 28hp seems underpowered but it does not on that machine and I do not know why! It must be the deck design not sure but it is pretty strong for normal mowing!

I agree the efi on the clipper seems to have plenty of power! I do not really know why but it seems as strong as the 33hp generacs on the other machines that I have! and boy is it much easier on gas!

My Lazer 72", 27 hp Kohler cuts as well as my Lazer 60" 27 hp. That 72" will save you time and gas too. :weightlifter:
