All the equipment i've bought, has been because of previous use of them. I guess that's how I knew about the quality, dependabilty, etc.
My echo trimmer was the only piece I ever bought out of desperaton........ it was late on a friday, my trimmer "died", local shops all closed, half of a big account done........ headed to Home Depot and bought the echo 2100. Still use it everyday, but nothing like my Red Max.

You forgot one of the MOST important factors in your poll.
    Dealers!
I will buy from a good quality dealer reguardless of product anything. You need that support from them or you may be dead in the water soon enough.

I'd rather buy products that I don't need to see a dealer very often.

  7. I buy what looks cool. I'm a sucker for good advertising. I know it's a bad way to do business but it's true.

I buy if it fits my hand just right. I bought a FC 110 this week end just cause it fit my hand just right. It felt good and the dealer is great. I have no worries when buying from my dealer that it will be fixed that night or a loner in hand till it is. Makes it easy to put down lotsomoney that way.

You also forgot, distance to the nearest professional dealer. I have to drive 30 miles to get to my dealer. Luckily he carries Exmark and Kubota, both of which i have, so i don't have to see him very much. :D

I have bought many different brands of equipment over the years. After I find a unit I like, thats the one I will buy again, irregardless of price or dealer.
