wild onions in lawn

    can anyone help me with getting rid of wild onions in a lawn. i tried some spray from lesco with no results. :hammerhead: :confused:

    I have had good luck with 3way and sticker, but I always step on the onion and break the skin, this allows the herbicide to find its way into the waxy surface of the plant.

    where can i find these treatments?

    should be able to get 3 way at lesco and the sticker too. you may already have 3 way, I think lesco sells Triplet. you can also use dish soap as a sticker, but the most important thing is to crush the wild onion with you foot and break the skin or the herbicide will just run off the plant.

    We have had results with speedzone. As another poster related, rub the soles of your shoes over the onions, to break the skin.

    NO!!, AND YOU ARE PROBABLY TALKING ABOUT WILD GARLIC . IT LOOKS AND SMELLS LIKE ONIONS BUT IS ACTUALLY WILD GARLIC

    It is Garlic and will take a couple of seasons to rid the lawn of it.

    Three way ester early work for me.
