its there a way to get a 2yr old srm-230 to start like a new one? i just changed the plugs and air/ fuel filters and it still takes 6+ pulls to start it.

Get a new carb. Change the breather and fuel filter. first pull. :clapping:

I don't know most of our echo units take a few pulls...we stop counting the pulls. Usually after they get going in the morning they start on first or second pull the rest of the day. I won't put on a new carb....does this unit have any adjusting screws on carb? If so tweak on those a little. New carb kit only cost a few bucks and is very easy to put in.

take off the muffler(two screws) and clean off as much carbon (black soot stuff) as possible. i don't know how much it will enhance starting but i know it will idle and run better. but i think it might help. less resistance in exhaust.
