Winter Fertilization

    What Would Be A Good Fertilizer For The Winter For Centipede With Small Patches Of Burmuda In Most Of The Yard And Just A Mixture Of Grass In The Rear Which Is Not Realy That Important.by The Way I Live In South Louisiana

    Right off hand, I ask if the grass has gone dormant or does it ever go domant? If it's still growing in LA, use a low nitrogen med. phosphate and higher potash to a little iron(Fe). 5-10 31 + 3% iron. Now I'm assuming that you have real sandy probably OK PH or slightly alakaline. What you probably really need to do is to do a soil test with the extention agency and tell them that your grass is centipede, etc. If it is dormant (This is January), I'd put nothing on it till March.--My degree is in Tennessee soil and grasses--I'm just acquiring the coastal stuff.
