winter time fertilizer

    What up guys.New to all this,Im in california if that makes a difference,what fertilizer should I use on lawns this time of the year? Any help would be great.

    Fertilizer only works when it gets into the soil, and is utilized by an active root mass. Or if that root mass is thatch, then it will work with water to grow more root at the surface.

    So, what is going on with your turf activity?

    If you are talking about bermuda and the like, then a high N fertilizer is the way to go. The temps are nice right now so it should take very well. Just be sure to give it lots of water! Smallaxe is correct though. Make sure the grass isn't to thatchy, most lawns usually get de-thatched (or better yet) aerated coming up pretty soon.
