do you guys charge less for small winteriztions than a regular service call. if so why would you do this? If you charge $70, $80, or $90 for a call to adjust a clock, head or somthing as simple as this why would you charge less if you brought a $10,000 compressor and burned fule while you were there? Maybe i am interpreting the posts wrong but it seems that some people are doing this.

not so much the # of zones but area irrigated. but i consider a small system around a 1/4 acre. i have places that are 10 zone 1/4 acres and properties that are 10 zone 3 acres.

Point taken, don't quite know why. Our cheapest winterization is $12 less then our minimum on a half hr service call. I guess it is more market driven.

Service calls would be more expensive than winterizing, given the level of skill required.
