I was busting Mike's balls, for busting your balls, about not providing a link. He knows how to use the interwebs.

Staples and Office Max sell little label printers that will print whatever you want, Matt. I've been using one for awhile with my more anal customers. Starting at 39.95 I think. The label is plastic and holds up in a valve box really well. I can ID a valve by controller like C-23 or sometimes the last rebuild date.

Dan's is definitely cooler, but I have this one:

Fry's Electronics sells little pads of number tape O-24 I think. Really great if you can keep them in a flat envelope of something. They self destruct in your tool tray.

Sprinkler World sells little number tape dispensers like this:

  4. The smallest Avery weatherproof I could find are #15510 1" x 2 5/8"

But they've got smaller sizes if weatherproof isn't critical.
Seems cheap to me if you are going to use the same numbers again and again.

To speed it up do one label with 1, repeat to all labels then do another sheet with 2 etc.

Or you could take the time to number a sheet and just spit out a sheet as needed.

Thanks all. I am exploring the options presented here.

These are for multi-strand wires, but are all dry and indoor. I am the customer this time, and yes, Im being anal.
