Anyone running WVO in their diesel trucks?

I recently met a guy who claims he's driven over 250,000 in his ford diesel, never had any problems, and at only the cost of filter replacement he claims he has paid about 12 - 15 cents per gallon.

    Anyone here run it?

Aren't the kits kind of pricey? you need an insulated tank, pump, lines, and mis. wiring. not to mention a free source of oil which is becoming harder to get.

problem with wvo is the big chains sell to large contractors laibility .

bio deisel is cheaper, but the nearest is 70 miles so that wouldnt work.

What i've been told is that all diesel engines can run on straight wvo...

no needing to add anything to it such as ethanol. it should be ultra filtered before use.

if it's an older engine that seals or gaskets should be replaced.

what do you mean by big chains?

Local chinese food, fried chicken, fried fish n chips places all seem willing to allow routine pick up of it. For FREE.

I plan to run 50-100% waste motor oil in my 92 7.3 IDI F250 soon. Only conversion is to wrap a heater hose around the fuel lines to preheat the oil to allow it to flow. From what I hear the 7.3 IDI (non-powerstroke, non-turbo) runs better on WMO than WVO. We will see.

This is something that is very new to me and I've been reading a little here and a little there about it on forums.

i think i read that the ford 7.3 is one of the best to run wvo.

i've pumped over $120 in gas alone in the last 5 days... so this has gotten my attention

nah I don't mess around with that stuff. I get decent fuel millage pulling my trailer. My diesel is super efficient and actually saves me money switching over from my gas burner.

My buddy runs it in his 98 cummins...its kinda cool because he is one of the few people that still has a SOLID connect on the used oil but most people can not just go into a restaurant and get it for free nowadays. Every single restaurant either gets PAID to give the stuff up or they have someone that already gets the stuff. It is a messy process, the tank and conversion kits cost a good amount, you gotta filter the stuff (some of it more than once), etc. If you wanted to make it into a hobby, you might save some cash after a year or two but its not something I wanna do after I get off work.
