I have a super-z with a 30 hp Kohler. Mower ran fine when I last parked it. Today when I try to start it, then engine turns over fine but it wont start. Tried choke and no-choke, every throttle position. I can see fuel in the fuel filter. Pulled a spark plug and it looks wet. Both tanks have gas in them. All fuses are good. Air filter clean.

At this point I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas as to what to try next?

So hard to diagnose without being in front of it....
I am assuming you have talked to the dealer already today?
Let me know, I can have a regional manager get involved if you need me to.

Kohler has had problems with some of those 30HP engines. They have been shearing flywheel keys, then you can not start the engine. I have a brand new Gravely/30hp Kohler, here at our shop that has sheared the flywheel key 3 times. Kohler is sending me a different flywheel that is supposed to solve the problem. This might be your problem. However, as PJ said, it is hard to solve these problems without seeing the machine.

Wet spark plug and no start. I would check for fire at the plug first.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. Apparently a relay went bad. They told me there was a service bulletin about the problem, so I guess its an ongoing issue. They replaced it with a different brand relay, so I should be good to go.:) Thanks for the input.
