How much do you guys pay for Workman's Comp Insurance? Some of my comercial accounts require it this year. I got a quote for $33 for every $100 I pay to employees. It sounds ridiculous to me. Can you get it for just certain jobs. Any help would be appreciated.

My workmans comp through Hartford is 8.2% of payroll. General Liability through Hartford is another 4.2%.

I pay 8%. The price varies depending on what services you provide. If you told them that you do chemicals and tree work, then the price would be higher than if you did just mowing.

    I use Compsource.

$4.12 per $100 payroll under the categorization of "lawn mowing" vs. "landscaping".

9.6%. 33% is ridiculous for landscaping.

Sound like the 33% would include worknmans comp., ss tax, state and federal unemployment.

I use paychex.com. It is pay as you go... and just lawn maintenance is about 5%.

%13.5 for landscapers; %7.06 for lawn cutters; 16% for pesticide applicators.
