I am looking for a decent first mower to get started. I found this mower for $550. The owner says its a 2000 or so, with about 300 hours. It has been regularly maintained and has a 32" cut. Does this sound like a deal?

You can't go wrong. Just check it out and make sure that is not some piece of junk. Even if it only lasts a year you will make your money back.

Looks like a good deal. I'd gobble that up in an instant, out the door.

Owned several of these. Things to check:

-- The baffling under the deck - it bends easily. Bad bends = missed grass.
-- Are the rods that run from the T-Bar to the pulleys still straight?
-- Are the front caster forks still straight? (They bend/break if hit hard against things.)

Other than that, they're a solid mower. Good luck...

I'd that sucker up, as long as it worked. You don't come across many $550 mowers. Especially name brand ones. Just make sure you test it out first. Let me know if you get it.
