My XR-7 deck is leaving a strip of uncut grass? Just wanted to know from you guys if the deck lift kit will help this problem? If not what have you done to solve this problem?

Your dealer can take care of this for you under warranty.
The lift kit and the triangle baffles in the rear will take care of the problem.
E-mail me if you need me to facilitate this for you.

I am having the same problem. I just put new Fusion blades on and it the uncut strip is still there. I am from the midwest and cut turf type fescue. Some times I have to double cut to make it look decent. do these fixes realy work?

Do you know if your deck was updated with the newer baffles?

I would get with your dealer and have them get the baffle kit installed and the following items checked.

    Cut Quality Suggestions
    1. Blades sharp, straight, and balanced.
    2. Blade tips even with the next blade.
    3. Underside of deck clean and unrestricted.
    4. Proper tire pressure in all tires.
    5. Operator using mower at full throttle.
    6. Deck is level from side to side and the blade tips are
a 1⁄4” higher in the back.
    7. Engine RPM’s set correctly.
    8. Deck drive belt tension set correctly.
    9. Electric clutch slipping
    10. Slow ground speed.
    A. Depending on type of grass mowed and how much is being
    cut off.

We have the same problem with uncut grass. the 72 leaves uncut grass between the center and outer blades. I have been mowing for more than 20 years and this deck needs a redesign. the late non-xr7 72" decks were the perfect design. what happened? pj needs to input some of this feedback to excel or the the customer just becomes the testing grounds.
1.) more blade overlap on large mowers.
2.) hydraulics that last 4,000 hrs. not 1500.(switch brands!)
3.) honesty in marketing mower speed.
4.) fuel tank needs to remain large(14 gal. min.)
    5.) larger efi engine choices
    6.)test out mulching capabilities-door capabilities
    7.)seats that last(michigan seats do not last-w/o a welder)
8.)more competively priced vac system(hint exmarks impeller fits excel)
    9.)thicker blades/ hardened spindles

KEEPERS: do not change these items
    1.)ease of service
    2.)integrated brakes
    3.)ease of height adjustment
    4.)warranty on hydraulics
    5.)frame durability
    6.)blade sail design
    7.)paint durability
