yellow leaves

    I'm very new to gardening and brand new to this site, so please bear with me. I planted some geraniums last week and already the leaves are turning yellow and the flowers have lost their spark. I've been watering them regularly. The tag said they like sun so I put them in the sun!!! Not too sure what to do at this point. They are planted in large clay pots. I live un AZ

    hello shelly,did you use fert.?also careful not to over water,or maybe the pot you used is to large.hope this helps you,let me know.


    p.s--just in case you didn't know,be careful when watering them,if you get water on the flower it will turn black and die.so water at the base of the plant only,i learned the hard way!lots of dead heading!

    Thanks John, I had no idea that you aren't supposed to water the flower. No, I didn't use fertilizer, just potting soil, the pot isn't awfully big, just large. I'm not giving up!
