I placed a huge ad this year in the Yellow book. Cost me 1500 bucks!! I told myself its an investment. I also advertised in the paper for the month of April. So far I have had 3:1 calls from the paper than the Yellow book.

Several reasons why it might not work is that that ad didnt run until mid April which by then most people have called looking for someone to mow. Also people could be turned off by a big fancy ad in the yb because they think they cant afford me, which is fine by me becasue that weeds out the cheapscapes. I am not getting too discouraged yet since the book lasts for a year so that means I will be there next spring when people go to call for next year service. Just will have to wait and see what pans out. So far not been that impressed for the amount of money it cost. I would have been better off maybe just sticking with the paper and used that money towards equipment.

Let me know bout your experience with the yb. Good or bad?
