    Hey Everyone,

What do I have to do to get DOT # for my trucks? Is it just a registration application? Is there a fee ? Thanks

Call the local State Police and ask or try the state website www.mass.gov. You will probably find what you are looking for. :usflag:

If you require a DOT # go to a truck dealer and they can do the DOT inspection, The cost is about $75.00 Call the dealers ahead of time because most don't do it. Not sure what you have for a truck but I believe it is a GVW of 12K in Mass so a 1 ton dump needs the sticker, a 1 ton P/u does not. It is supposed to be done within 10 days I think of purchase, but one of my trucks went a year! Just don't get stopped. Most cops proably wouldn't site you on it for it in a 1 ton but anything larger you will probably get fined.

Make sure you have chock blocks, first aid kit, flares, triangles and fire extingusher. Back up alarm, dump alarm, lights etc all must work.
