I've been researching ZTR's for a few months and am getting close to a purchase. However, before doing so I'm wondering how rough of a ride the ZTR is versus the AWS lawn tractors. I mow about 4 acres with many trees and a few hills (ditches). I've had back surgery in the past and have been told that the ZTR's can be a rough ride. Are they rougher than a tractor?

Possibly a little rougher. It will depend on how fast you are moving and how much air you have in your back tires. If you want to experience the AWS lawn tractors.. go for it. Just be ready to pay for repairs when something breaks in the rear steering. AWS is just a gimmick. I believe Murray had a few AWS models a long time ago and then tried to bring it back just before Briggs bought them out. Like the AWS that Chevy came out with.. how many of those vehicles are really out there? Don't seem to hear too much touting going on anymore.
