As a general rule of thumb, how does the ride of a commercial ztr compare to the ride of a traditional lawn tractor (Deere x320) when traveling on a slightly bumpy lawn?

It's about the same unless you get a suspension seat, but I am pretty
sure they have those for tractors, too.

I can safely say that a Deere 777 rides like total crap on bumpy ground. For the most part, lawn tractors seem to have a better ride. Part of it may be that I mow a lot faster on a ZTR, which makes the bumps worse, but there's nothing like mowing 6 ft wide at 10 MPH on a 777.

They are both similar in the amount of shock transmitted to the seat if you are going at the same speed. Speed is the key. Mowing at 4-5 MPH is a lot different than 8-10 MPH.
