Hi All, new to this site. Wanted to know what type of shirts and pants you guys wear while cutting grass in the hot summer heat. Read something on here about actually being cooler in long-sleeve shirts because the sun dosn't hit you. Been cutting grass small time for about 10 years, and now that I want to go full time I want buy the right gear. Are there any long-sleeve shirts or pants that are breathable and will protect me from the sun. Are there any clothing lines designed specifically for us landscapers who spend all day in the sun. Tired of getting baked up in the summer sun.

I wear Wild Ass® Original Work Pants and A-shirts. When it gets hot enough (which is to say if I feel a bead of sweat), the shirt comes off. Here's the pants:

I love those pants, been wearing them since day 1.
If it gets cooler, of course t-shirts and sometimes a sweater but only until I warm up, as I like to work hard enough to go shirtless even in 40-degree weather, the harder I party the colder it needs to be lol.

Okie summers will hit 105 to 110 heat index with little wind in July and August....I see the Hispanic workers in jeans and long sleeves working like banshees. Ive tried it and let me say, I aint tough enough to do it....I'll stick with shorts and sleeveless t shirts.....and yes, my legs look like I got the scabies by the end of the day.

long sleeve shirts (company logo over pocket) and khaki pants all day long. shirt tucked in with a belt, man up you sissy's.
They will probably bury me in my Dickies and work shirt, and Timberland Pro's thats all I wear.

jean shorts or jeans and a cutoff T-shirt.
company t-shirt (tucked in/belt). dickie style pants. workboots. occasionally shorts depending on the route/schedule for the day.

I have bought several UnderArmour (or knockoff similar) shirts. Really like em in the heat, they breathe nice. Next year, may look to put my logo on these types of shirts....
LONG SLEEVE POLYESTER SHIRTS WITH A CAP THAT HAS DRAPE ON BACK AND JERSEY GLOVES WITH BLUE JEANS. mY BODY TEMP IS 7-8 DEGREES COOLER THAN ALL THESE NUTS RUNNING AROUND WITH SHORT SLEEVE SHIRTS, SHORTS AND BALD HEADS AND MELANOMA IN 20 YEARS. YOU WILL NOT GET THE SKIN CANCER UNTIL YOU ARE ABOUT 50-60 YEARS OLD.
Long sleeve shirt....canvas carhart pants......Danner boots. Doesnt matter what the temp is. Funny to see guys in work boots, shorts, and sleeveless shirts. "Trying to be professional in an UN-professional biz" duds(ya duds) like that just make me laugh! .....like they say, "Be a MAN son"

summer heat.hahaha.in summer the days here are 105 to 120.last summer we had 28 days over 110.when i was in the navy i was in north Africa.those people wear wool loose clothing to cover every part of their bodies. at work we wear loose fitting long sleeve shirts and loose fitting jeans so that air will blow thru and cool the sweat.oh yeah.and hats are the most important when in the sun.FYI i have worn long sleeve shirts and jeans and still get skin cancers on my arms.

Thats a negative ghost rider, I got it on my nose at 35. The surgery was 5 years ago, and my nose is still numb to this day.
Just wear sunscreen people it beats the alternative
