Exmark Metro vs. Viking... ?

Does anyone here know the difference between the 48" metro and the 48" viking, both exmarks...?
They look the same to me, but that's from a catalog...
Is it just the metro is gear drive and the viking is hydro?

and the viking is a fixed deck.

Metro is fixed too, floating deck is an optoin. Yes the difference is the hydro/belt drives.

Depending on the age of the Viking, they were at one time belt drives.

another difference would be about $1k and bigger tires on the viking as well, but other than that the only major difference is gear vs. hydro.

I have both. If you are considering purchasing one, spend the extra and get the viking. With the stand on attachment it is one quick little machine. The Metro now is on loan to another LCO. When it returns it will sit in the shop.

Like someone said the older Vikings were belt-drives (not sure what years) but the current models are fixed-deck hydros.
