I am just trying to get a feel for the shop labor rates in different areas. I am in Sunny South Florida and my shops rate is $55.00hr and a consumables fee for certain jobs of $2.00-$4.00. I also offer an emergency repair fee of $85.00 if you want me to stop what I am doing to fix it right now, but this is mostly for show and helps quiet the I need it right now guys.

The shop I work at is on the west coast from Gainesville, We charge $50.00 a hour with a % for shop supplies, We also have a set price for a standard tune & service starting at $29.95 plus parts for walk behinds up to $49.95 plus parts for twin cylinder commerical units. The local fire departments have #1 priority, The commercial user that bought their unit from us is #2 and the commerical user that didn't is #3. I normally charge a extra 1/4 hr. for stopping what I'm doing to start on theirs soon as they drive in the gate. A happy commercial user that buys blades, Filters ect. ALL the time and updates their unit when needed is a little more important than the homeowner that mite come in 2 or 3 times a year, But in most cases it doesn't really put them that much futher behind.

My Labor Rate is;
$65/Hr
If you watch, $75/Hr
If you ask questions $95/Hr
If you want to help $125/Hr
If you worked on it before you brought it to me $250/Hr

Service calls are automatic $125, and emergency service is $125/Hr. I am a weldor so my rates may be different than a small engine shop(much cheaper I am sure:rolleyes: ).

thats the best and funniest rate scale ive ever seen

$55.00 an hour in Northern Illinois.

$2.00 consumables on walks, $4.00 on riders.

Local pick-up / delivery is $45.00 round trip.

Walk mower tune-ups $69.99 w/ tax

Riders are billed per hour plus parts (Usually 2 hours).

First come first serve unless it's one out our Invoiced Commercial accounts
($1000.00 per year minimum to get status).

This works very well in out area. Might be too low or high in other areas.
