We mow in anything, provided the grass isn't too long. It's a pain and takes twice as long, but we get too far behind if we don't. I usually don't use the Z if it's raining.

After last summer's two-month drought, I'm looking forward to a little rain this season to keep things growing.

only if it is light, or to finish a property

I agree with mostly everyone here, I only cut if it is very light rain. If it is to heavy then the ground is to wet and you start to get mud and mess up the lawn.

If I need to finish a yard or need to get that yard done that day I will, plus it makes me feel cool:cool2:

Absolutely. To a point though. I actually don't pay my guys if they are not working due to rain. It sounds unfair but it works well. If you pay them they tend to want to wait in the truck for it to clear up (because they are getting paid). If you don't pay them if they are not working guess what, a little rain does not bother them. If it is lightning and thunder and a down pour, I make the decision and i usually pay them for that. I'm not going to risk there health to save a few bucks.

Will finish up the route or the neighbor hood depending on how bad it is
last year i cut in a Tornado!
i was several miles from it but it was still in oakland were i was cuttin

Same here only if it's medium to light rain..so that we won't get behind..

Sometimes you have to. But usually I don't because I'm not booked yet. So, I have a few free days every week.

If it's a downpour, I'll check the radar on the cell phone. If there's a clearing for the next day's work, I'll start that instead.

If not, and it looks like it'll clear up shortly, I'll wait in the truck.

If it looks like it's going to be 2-3 hours, I'll head home.

If it's something that I can throw raingear on, and still be reasonably comfortable, I'm cutting.

I only do commercial places. Most of them will never notice if you cut in the rain or not, too much turf to notice.

How do most of you deal with wet grass in the tyre treads? Do you take a run down the road & clear it that way or do you have some tricks I don't know about? Also what about the mess when you turn the deck off - what do you do with this mess??
Cheers
