What specifically is 2-4d. H ave not heard of that?

You buy it at Lesco? home Depot?

2,4-d will not kill clover. You need a 3-way herbicide to get rid of clover. You should also fertilize your lawn as clover grows well in low nitrogen conditions. How are you going to apply the herbicide? I don't mean to be a jerk but you sound like a homeowner with little experience and I worry about you incorrectly applying the herbicide. If you go to a Lesco, which is really a John Deere Landscapes they should be able to help you out. Your best bet would be to hire a local professional to do the job and get advice.

Very familiar with JDL , I buy my seed and starter fert there . Im actualy an irrigation contractor , we also do a lot of areating / overseeding at the end of summer , so Im in Lesco quite a bit at that time.

On another note I also have quite a bit of African violet ( you guys may call it something else , not sure)

2,4D is one of the active ingredients in most all broadleaf herbicides. We are all here to learn and I am not bashing you, but I hope you are not out applying pesticides. 2,4D is very common, and most homwowners know what it is and what it does. I could contact your local extension office to see where you can learn more about pesticides and how you can get licensed before applying.

Again, I'm not bashing you, just highlighting the fact that there is alot to learn for someone that is new before you start putting down product.

2-4d, but I have bermuda. You cant put this on all grass and I dont know what you have? 2-4d will kill it in like 2 to 3 days!
Please disregard his comments as you will want to use a combo product that contains Dicamba to control clover.

This is incorrect as 2-4,D has VERY LITTLE TO ABSOLUTELY NO activity on Clover!

I can always tell who takes care of their own lawn using 2-4,D, as they have no Dandelions but they have a lot of clover and just a little grass!

Clover is very easy to control when using the correct product!

I use Three way from Lesco and it works great. I sprayed some just a few days ago and it is basically gone except for a very few spots that stuck around. You got to make sure you get good close coverage I found, the big drops from my gun seem to bounce right off if I don't get right on it.

I didn't want to stick my nose in a Cool Season thread, But here in warm season, Dicamba is used to control Oxlis with is like clover.

Yeah....you better check!

If it kills clover in 2 to 3 days...it must be magical!

I have done many many acres and never seen it go out that quick with anything I use!
Find a new suppler or check the mix rate!, I use the spot spray rate on Bermuda and this is my yard I'm talking about AND I have my license before you start bashing that to!!
