Gravely 15/48 Gear drive... Gas spitting thru pin hole in cap, Does my fuel filter need replaced?? Any other suggestions??
Ummmm.......gas expands when it gets hot.......like it says in the mower manuals. You're suppose to leave like 1/2" - 1" of air at the top of your gas tanks - EVEN when you FILL them! All three of my new Gravelys do this. But they only do it when totally full and usually when it's very hot. If I run one tank for 5-10 minutes and then switch over to the other, problem solved.![]()
cub cadet tell you in the owner manual not to over fill maybe thats why you had problems with your tank, did you read how to run it , service it ..........The vent on the cap is not working properly. If it's a fairly new machine, make the dealer give you a new cap, otherwise, pick one up and replace it.
Cub Cadet has a problem with their fuel caps leaking out of the vent hole. They have a up-dated cap to use that is suppose to stop this from happening.
Did you even read the last or the first post? The guy asking this has a Gravely & in the last post the guy (that made that post) stated that he only fills his tanks to 1" BELOW the tip?!?!you need good venting .... you dont fill your exmarks to the tip do you?

don't be a jackass. I've been a certified auto tech for 30 years. I know how much fuel to put in the tanks. I could take the mower apart and put it back together without a manual on any given day. Being it was a CC, it would be better then new if I put them together. They have the worst QC of any company in the business. The dealer TOLD me CC has a problem with the gas caps and offer a up-dated cap to replace the leaking caps. and for the record, the fuel tank on the CC I had was defective. The lip where it seals to the cap was deformed and was leaking enough fuel to make the rear tire wet with fuel. That was the side the vent on the cap WAS NOT leaking, but the other side. So, the tank was bad on the left and the cap was bad on the right.cub cadet tell you in the owner manual not to over fill maybe thats why you had problems with your tank, did you read how to run it , service it ..........![]()
