I have a John Deere GT225 with a 48" COnvertiable deck on it that I use up my camp. This year I want to but a bagger to help out with leaves etc. The actuall bagger is about $830. I was wondering if there was anyway I can make this John Deere Bagger work for my tractor. This model bagger is actually listed under the attachments for my mower on JD's website. But I didn't know if it would work or not with the cargo mount system?? ANy Help??

why dont you try a cyclone rake for leaves? Maybe a used one to save alittle $$$, but for the fall you'll love em'.
ya I have thought about those but I could use the bagger for cutting grass sometimes too and I need to get in some tighter spaces so I don't want to have to pull the trailer around

Just drill holes like the cargo mounts, and replace the attaching pins ( i'm guessing they're pins) with bolts then put a lock nut on the bolt then stick the bolt through the hole and using another nut and a washer tighten it so the metal of the tractor is sandwiched between the two nuts.

When that bagger was made for your tractor it still used the post style mounting with the shroud supported by a post that attached to a bracket that mounted above the hitch. The picture on the website is probable used as a generic for depicting small or medium sized baggers.

You will probably need to get a different chute because shape of the discharge opening is different on your mower as opposed to the model the bagger is intended for. For that I would go on Deere's website and order a chute. And since they ended production of your model recently as opposed to mine (Lx172 i think they stopped production in 1997) It should be easy to get one even at your dealer.

Thanks! That was a big help. I will have to check on a chute. Mine ended production in 2003(which mine is)

deere615 i have the same bagger for both of my deeres and they work with the cargo mount setup.its just two pins that go into the holes on the back of the tractor.but you need to put a piece of steel over each pin and then screw it in to the tractor.because when the bagger gets full it will pull the pins out of the holes and then it drags.if i can try i will try to get some pics up either today or tommorrow..
