Alot of the jacobsens have a hyd flow sensor located in main hyd line from the pump if this sensor is going bad it will sense no hyd flow and shut the machine down. this might help

We're having a new problem with this unit. It feels like the transmission is slipping and has no power going up hills. We talked to our local tech which said he thought it was the front drive shaft and bearing being worn out. The bearing and shaft slips and then grabs but will fail eventually. Does anybody have any thoughts on this? The repair costs were estimated at $3500.00 and that seemed a little steep to me. If that's an accurate estimate then we have to decide if we want to fix it or scrap it. It seems it has turned into a money pit, but what do you expect from an old used piece of equipment?

I also have a steering problem on mine It turns one way fine and to the mechanical stops but the other way does not go to the stops and the steering wheel just keeps turning, is it the delay relay ? and where is that located? thanks in advance!!

The problem may be at your hyd steering cylinder between the wheels. I had the same problem and changed the seals in the cylinder and that took care of the problem. You can check the problem by reversing the hoses and the problem will be in turning the opposite direction.A seal is leaking in the steering cylinder.

I suspected it was that but someone had posted something about a Delay relay? which made no sense to me, I had a similar prob. with my Case vibratory plow for sprinkler pipe, it has 2 cylinders for the articulating steering and it turned out to be a bad seal or ring on one of the cylinders, thanks for your reply, do you work alot on HR-5111 Jakes?
