Hey, I was wondering what others are using against the southern chinch bug. I currently am using cypermetherin, with a spreader. Are there any new insecticides?? What are you using?? Thanks, Walter

Well the chinch bugs here in Florida are now resistant to bifenthrin, the oil based incarnation has a better control,,however you still have to repeat applications. The thatch in lawns is also a problem. Gotta make sure you have enough volume of water bringing it down into the turf. Low volume ride on sprayers just don't make it.
Has anyone used arsenal? Trugreen customers here are getting letters telling them they will be charged double treatment costs to cover an application of it against chinch,, but I understand it's expensive.
Dursban,,hey you can still but it for termite treatments,,but that dursban smell will have any inspector running to check out where it's coming from! Same with orthene,, ::Sevin works, however with the Florida rains it will not keep in the turf.

Dursban...
You say some f'd up stuff on here. Your suggestions are usually based on 20 year old thinking or more, and in several cases outright illegal. You claim to have 20 or 30 years experiance yet I saw in another thread you openly admitted burning your customers lawns this year...something I nor anyone I ever met has done in 20 years. You might want to look back at all the things you responded to and see if you can delete them or something....

lol.....Relax man. Breath deep. The Dursban suggestion was meant as a joke. Of course it's no longer available and yeah I tip burned a few lawns with wc because it got to 90 degrees in early April.

You spelled "experience" wrong, Mr. Hendrix.
