Ive run into a problem with a neighbor complaining my mowers are too loud and am looking to avoid problems, again :(

Long story short it takes 14-16 seconds each to load my 2 mowers in the morning, I timed it. Just idel, not full throttle or blades or anything.

In the past I never had problems where I had lived until a few year ago I moved into a snobby prentious neighborhood and that ended in a lawsuit costing me nearly 30k. It seems doctors and lawyers dont like living next to the "lawn boy". They had been telling cops I must have been a drug dealer and found out they were actually following me and investigating me on it too for 2 years!!! Nobody believed the lawn boy could do so well. So I moved to a cookie cutter vinyl villiage and now may be having the same troubles again.

I know I need to move out some place private where I can be left alone, but till then I need a solution short of leaving them on the trailer that will keep them quiet for the 30 seconds or less they run total in the morning.

All I got for ideas is get another muffler and add hooks and clamps to easily put it on, and take it off once they are loaded.

I live in a gated community and my solution was to buy an enclosed trailer and store it at my buddies house every night. Deed restrictions prevent me from parking any type of trailer within my community. As far as noise goes, if I were you I'd check with your local zoning department and find out if there are any time restrictions on running mowers. Where we live you are allowed to mow from 7am on. Come 7 am and my blades are spinning so I can get done before the afternoon showers start here in Florida. I would also check with the local HOA and see if they have any mowing noise restrictions. If it's in the bylaws that you can mow from, say 9am on, then I wouldn't think they could do much to prevent you from loading as long as it was after the specified time.

Ive been through all this before. Im just looking to find a way to keep the noise down to keep the problems away.

I would love to tell her to f*ck off, but trust me, after going through all this crap it just aint worth it.

Just need to find a way to keep the noice down when they move 10 ft from the garage to the trailer and Im on my merry way :)

Invest in an enclosed trailer, keep them loaded all the time. They will be secure and out of the weather too. No need to start them at all while you are at home. I don't know what size trailer you would need, but for $5000 or so your problems could be solved.

tizzy said it best. if your following the noise ordinance laws the neighbor can pound sand.
But if the HOA rules are different from the noise ordinance laws, then don't bother following the HOA rules

I mow in N.Alabama and if I was ever told this I would be sooo frustrated. You have the right to work and better yourself. As an owner/operator you gotta be a go-getter. It sounds like you would like to keep trouble away, but there comes a time when you stand firm.

This is what I was thinking ... or just simply store your trailer in the garage every night !!
