My weed eater works great until It gets hot and I go to the next job and takes a million pulls to get it to start again. What ya think it could be? Ethanol? Carb going? Getting old? It's only 2 years old. Echo SRM series. My blower seems to do this too but it's like 8 years old.

My stuff won't run very good when it get's in the mid 90's.
For one thing, the fuel expands greatly at that temp.
I think the carbs need to be adjusted but, some can't be done in the field (thank you EPA).
Don't fill them to the top with fuel and crack the cap a lot during operation to let the pressure out.
I discovered the pressure thing about 7-8 years ago and it's a habit to crack the cap every time I start something up now.
Maybe someone else has some ideas?

I think that is what 's happening. Only when it's in the 90's it really gives me problems. I try letting out the air by cracking the cap but it's not a magic bullet. Okay so I knew I wasn't the only one with that problem.

Try replacing it with new units ;)

Rings get hot 🔥 so your compression is going by so when it cools off it should run better this is y I use two weeders run one out of gas ⛽ give it Break to cool off wow I use the other one and thi to keep them in the shed a when not in use..

I don't believe that a recoil assembly can handle a million pulls or that anyone would actually try that hard to start a machine, so I'm calling BS on the OP.

Edit- I did some calculations and you would have to pull the recoil once every second continuously for 11.5 days in order to try to start it that many times. That likely exceeds the limits of human endurance. Definitely BS!

Life changing experience to say the least.
