I got my eye on a 36" hydro turf tracer, but don't have a trailer yet. Could I use aluminum ramps and drive that sucker into the bed of my super duty? From the best google fooin I could do that 36" turf tracer is 46.7" inches wide with the deflector down. I have 48" from wheel well to wheel well. I think I am good, but just wondered if it was stupid to try to drive a 500+ lbs mower up on 4 wheeler ramps?

Thanks,

Boaz

I'm pretty sure you're talkin about a walk behind. I do it ALL the time, but i use wood ramps. The guy who sold me a metro said he was scared it would roll over him when unloading, but he was a skinny dude. I go up those ramps, brake it when it's on my tailgate, tilt it up, and use my knee to put it in neutral. When i first got my quick 36, one of the videos i watched (from their site) showed a guy working straight out of his truck also. You just have to be sure about handling it.

Sorry, I meant as a temporary load unload situation. I plan on getting a trailer, but I am just waiting for the right deal to come along this winter.

Link that video if you can find it!

With a hydro dont bother putting it in N. The machine wont roll very easily. I use to fit my 48" Exmark Viking in my Chevy Colorado, just didnt fit past the wheel wells. With a 36" and a full size it will easily fit past the wheels. Just raise your chute. I found the mower worked way better without the discharge chute(less clumping) jut be mindful of where you point the discharge.

I have at times when in a pinch put my 48" Exmark Walkbehind in the back of my 8' box, I use 2 2x6s with a ramp kit on it and it works just fine and I have plenty of room in my box.
