I have 3 back pack sprayers but only one has an agitator. I like to dedicate a sprayer for each type of product. I know WDG products are supposed to be agitated to keep the product suspended but what if you just use a regular sprayer with no agitation? Just do the back pack dance every few seconds. :laugh: Any thoughts?

I keep a quart container like a mason jar in the truck.
I fill the backpack half way with clean water. Then add the amount of product for 4 gallons to the jar and add water. Close the lid and shake. Once dissolved, then add it to the tank and fill the rest with 1 gallon and 3 quarts of water.
Not too hard if you think about it.......................Yes, it needs to be agitated and walking does not constitute mixing. It does seem the mixture comes out hotter on the first few gallons and weaker on the last gallon. This is a con of using a manual pressuring non back siphon pack sprayer.

Thanks for reply. I do have a back pack that has paddles that seems to work okay since I see good results when I use it. But I just didn't want to have to buy another one right now.

Not sure if anyone else uses this method but I bought a paint wheel/mixer that is used to mix paint on a cordless 18V drill. I typically allow time for it to dissolve and then I run the drill on low speed ensuring all areas of the tank are agitated. It has worked thus far for me.

The problem is keeping it agitated or suspended while spraying in order to get a even distribution from the whole tank. Maybe it's over kill to worry about it but all the labels say agitate agitate agitate.

I agree with the agitation process; it is like powder chocolate in milk, doesnt mix well unless blended. Then if left sitting in the kids cup it settles to the bottom.
This works for backpack sprayers too. The first gallon or so will be intensely strong and eventually weaken as you go along without agitation.

is there not a liquid variant of the product your considering?
I use a sp sprayer, diaphragm pump, with bypass agitation,
seems to work well for what I use , but I stick to just liquids,
wonder if the battery BP sprayers have a constant agitation function?
don't suggest your use with a piston pump type sprayer

Most of the pre ems seem to be powders or granules accept maybe Atrazines. I haven't researched enough but maybe there is a prodiamine liquid or similar.
