I'm restructuring my mowing programs this year and am looking for some ideas for cheap and easy add ons to make each mowing program level different.

our mowing season is march-oct. leaf season is oct-dec. jan-feb we just keep check on properties and cut back to every 2 weeks for year round customers.

I currently am thinking about...

level 1 - seasonal mowing and bed maintenance(beds checked regularly for weeds, sticks, pine cones)
level 2 - seasonal mowing/leaf clean ups and bed maintenance
level 3 - year round service and ?????

I like to keep seeding, aeration, weed/fert program as an add on(I have many customers where I only mow or only do weed/fert).

What could I add to level 3? Thought about bed pre but that could be expensive. Any advice on changing the programs around?

I am surprised at how many LCOs don't fertilizer their customer's lawns. I know some states you have to have an applicator's license. So if that's a restriction, I understand. But there are tons of LCOs in states that do NOT require an appl. license that STILL don't take advantage of this opportunity. You're already there. Takes only 5-10 minutes max with a broadcast spreader. Why not offer this?

The last item, a once-a-year walk-through with your client would not only be a great selling point, but it is a great opportunity to learn more about your customers wishes each year, meet with them again to continue the relationship (remember, we buy from PEOPLE not companies. Customers are not loyal to companies as much as they are to people. Create a lasting relationship and you'll create a lasting customer.), and you'll be reminding them every year that you value them as a customer. It will set you apart from the others. I guarantee you 95% or more of your competitors do NOT do this.

i def agree on the fertilizer. most homes here have tons of plants and palms. you can go through 4-5 bags on one application. its not a ton of money but like you said your already there, why not.

Depending on how many of your accounts are under irrigation you may want to include Sprinkler System Tune-up / Spring Activation / Programming. The TAS Trimmer can be a wise investment with minimal cost and only a straight shaft line trimmer to operate it with. Most LCO's have spare line trimmers to attach the TAS Trimmer to and the additional funds will follow.

Thanks guys. I'm really trying to streamline my services since I added a crew this year. Trying to make it as easy as I can so they don't do something different at every stop.

I get a lot of request for customers who want to pay as they go on a monthly basis. Some are mow blow go but most are full service - weekly mows and weed program.

The tough part is we pretty much have 3 seasons where we can put a mower on a lawn --- growing, leaf, and winter.

So I may need 3-4 levels to give them options and let me dictate what each option includes.
