Blade belt comes off the pulley when engaged

I have owned two mini fastraks over the past 8 years and I would like to see if the company has a kit or some solution for the following problem: The blade belt OCCASIONALLY comes off the pulley when I start the blades up. It slips under the tensioner pulley and gets wedged in there really tight, sometime resulting in a slight tear to the belt.

I know why this happens. The white piece of plastic that this tensioner pulley sits on elevates the pulley above where it needs to be (and is higher than the other plastic pulley). So, essentially, the belt is riding on the very bottom lip of the pulley and is at risk of coming off if it happens to "jump". This happens even with NEW belts.

I have noticed that if I place the deck in the neutral position (neither high nor low), the belt does not come off very often.

I run hi-lift blades, so maybe the extra jolt of accelerating those blades makes the belt stretch and the jump off track. But honestly, I would think Hustler would have identified this defect in design and offered a solution. Thanks.

I'm curious what deck width you have. Also, the actual blade part numbers may be of help, to determine the exact blade and its appropriateness for the application.

I have a '05 FasTrak/Mini Z 42" and it has never tossed the belt, in ~9yrs. Hmm.

On the Shortcut, Hustler had the wisdom to install two pulleys to allow the deck belt to be adjusted for low and high settings eliminating that problem. Maybe you can rig a spacer dropping the pulley so the belt runs more centered?
