Can you mix 2,4-D with PGR's, specifically T-Nex (Trinexapac).

I know 2,4-D works by forcing the plant to grow super fast and kill itself, but works on the Auxin pathway. T-nex works on the Gibberellic acid pathway to slow down cellular elongation.

My question is, If applied at the same time with both chemicals mixed together, do the two chemicals cancel out the effect of the other and you get zero weed control, or do they still function independently since they affect different growth pathways?

Just a guess. I think it would depend on, how fast the 2,4-D took effect, based on, if applied during active growth and left alone, along with the target weeds stage of age life (young and tough or old and ready to go). I'm sure there would be some type of growth cross of signs creating dysfunction. Again just a guess. There are alot of factors of disruption. I've never done it or talked to someone who has, who spilled the beans.

It never hurts to do a test Plot. Just do a reasonable area and Not Dixie Cups and Windex Bottles.

IMHO you shouldn't have any Problems. 2,4-D will effect only certain plants/weeds while the PGR will still work on the turf that might only be slightly effected/stunted by the 2,4-D.

Trinexepac is very specific in affecting the GA in grasses. Other PGRs are not as selective. There should not be a problem with action on weeds with such a tank mix. However, I am aware of the damage caused by 2,4-D on warm season grasses. Trinexepac may prolong the time needed for the grass to grow out of such damage.
