Just finally got fed up with my old Husqvarna YTH 2248. I have had it for 12 years and have started to replace to many parts to keep her going. The Kohler command 22 is still tip top but the mower is dead all the way around it. So I decided to pull the trigger and go buy a Bobcat Fastcat Pro se 52". I could not get the dealer to budge for less than 6800 out the door and delivered. So I decided to sleep on it and after doing some research found a 2015 Snapper Pro 150 52" out the door for 6000. The Snapper (on paper) is twice the machine when compared to the Bobcat. I have been unable to find very many reviews on the net about this model. What few I have found are favorable but I am nervous at the lack of the quantity of reviews. The Bobcats are popular here in my neck of the woods and my neighbor loves his. I do not want to make an 800 dollar mistake before pulling the trigger. The machine will be used to mow 4 acres of residential property that is gently rolling. I am not interested in the semi-pro/heavy residential models as I want something that will do better than the 12 years I got out of the YTH2248. Do any of you professionals use the Pro 150? If so what are your thoughts on the reliability?

Thanks for the heads up on the Hudsons review. I missed that one when I did the search of this site. The deck does get good reviews. I have found many on the deck. The model I was quoted has the Kawasaki and I think I am buying on Tuesday. It seems the only thing the Cat has that may be better is the gauge of the deck.

The snappers aren't all that popular here either, but I can't understand why for the life of me. They are the best deal out there for a full commercial machine. As long as you have a decent Snapper dealer I wouldn't hesitate to buy the snapper. The s150 and sw35 will be our next two purchases. Everyone I talk to that runs snappers love them. Oh, and if I could find an s150 for 6k otd it would be in the shop already!

I would take a Snapper Pro over a Bob cat any day of the week. There are tons of BC's in my area, and I am never impressed with their cut quality. The SP's are vastly under rated mowers IMO. I would opt for a Vanguard engine in an SP if given the choice though. They are the best engine out right now IMO, and I love Kawi's, and run one myself.

Yep, I am sold at this point. I will say my out the door on the 150 is slightly misleading. It will actually cost me 6450 with shipping. 6000 out of his door and 6450 to mine. The Bob Cat dealer is local and that was his out the door price. I found better deals on those but no one can ship the BC's. I assume it's to protect the territory. I do have a snapper pro dealer within 50 miles but it was cheaper to buy and have it shipped. Considerably cheaper or I would have paid the difference to support the local dealer. I service my equipment myself and the warranty should be good with any dealer with something major. I see no reason why the dealership that is selling me the 150 wouldn't do the same for anyone else. I am nobody special. If your interested send me an email and I will give you the details.

You can get the Vanguard 810cc EFI or non-EFI motor in the 52" Snapper Pro S150xt. Which engine does the one you're looking at have? Either Vanguard would be a great engine, but the EFI would be a plus although I suspect it will add some cost to the purchase.

As was stated before, we bought one about a month ago. Absolutely incredible machine! You will not regret buying it! This thing is heavy duty and is very well built. I have a Vanguard on it and it's great so far. The 48" doesn't come with the EFI option. But the 52" does as mentioned. I have the EFI on my 61" S200XT and it was about $400 more than it's carbed counterpart. I'm really happy with it. The hydros in the S150XT are out of this world. I can't believe that they put the 5400's on this thing! It's overkill, but good overkill. The mower is capable of far more than the factory set 10mph with a very simple adjustment. Not to mention the 4 year warranty. Idk what Bobcat offers, but I don't think they can beat Snappers warranty. If you do buy it, make sure to get the suspension seat insert.

The EFI for an extra $400 over the non-EFI would be a complete no brainer for me. The payback on that $400 would be pretty quick just in gas savings alone, and not taking into account any of the other advantages of EFI over carbs.

I have the dealer calling me back with a firm price on the S150XT. He said that all of theirs have the Kawasaki motors so maybe they special order them with the Kawi motors? I told him I would prefer the FX950 on the S150XT but would take the 850 if I had to. So I am waiting to see what they can order. The 125XT is the biggest model they have in stock. How much extra for the suspension seat insert?

There is no FX950. I think you meant the FX921. Trust me, unless you are doing mega hills all the time, the 850 is more than enough engine for a 60" deck, and way better on fuel.

What do you think about the Vanguard 810cc EFI? It will be on a 52" deck. It says it is 28hp and I think that should be plenty for a 52" deck. Thoughts? In your opinion would the FX730v Kawi with 24HP be enough?

Where is this speed adjustment? Is it the forward stop bolts for the sticks?

Yep, you've got it
Got it! Thanks! Those are what I had already adjusted. When I got it, it would gps at about 8.5-9 mph. And a quick adjustment took it to 12mph. Not that I mow that fast but it's nice to travel a little faster! I love the snapper pro, great machine and seriously underrated, especially considering the value for the money spent! If a guy makes a list of features that the snapper pro has, and tries to compare it to others , I doubt anything will come close $ for $.

I got the machine Saturday. Love it. The only problem I have is my yard is a little rough to take advantage of the speed increase. I am guesstimating that 5 mph is about that top without getting airborne. I haven't checked by GPS yet. For those of you who use this machine, does the seat insert help? If so I am going to have to order one, but was surprised at how costly it is. I am super happy I did not go with the fastcat pro.

The insert does help! Shouldn't cost more than $250. Glad you like your machine! Would love to see pics.
