Having trouble with my wireless Hunter rain sensors going bad, where is the battery replacement located.
I use to be that way but now I hate wired. The Rain Bird wireless works flawlessly.I hate wireless.
Which rain bird wireless?I use to be that way but now I hate wired. The Rain Bird wireless works flawlessly.
Well not really, I like them but I've had several transmitters go out on me or it eats batteries. RB did send me some replacements at no cost though but I replaced them at no cost to the customer on my own time.I use to be that way but now I hate wired. The Rain Bird wireless works flawlessly.
I initially used the Hunter wireless when it had the "wire" antennae but it let in moisture (told by Hunter) and the transmitter failed so I lost faith in it and went with the RB WR2 since it had a replaceable battery and adjustable shut off. But as mentioned they have their problems also.Hunter wireless rain sensors and Wireless Solar Sync use an industrial-type battery that is sealed against corrosion and water intrusion. They each have a 5-year warranty. The battery is rated for a 10-year life.
We (should) get long life because the sensors (transmitters) are not talking to the receiver 24/7. They talk every so often to ensure proper communication to the receiver. A rain event will immediately trigger a response to the receiver and controller. Likewise, when the sensor dries out it will communicate.
The wireless Irritrol rain sensors that I have installed have batteries that can be replaced. I think they are the round silver looking batteries and if my memory serves me correctly they are the CR2302.the Hunter wireless sender has a fully potted circuit, so it has to be replaced in full - replaceable batteries (potted in silicone goo - fun come replacement time) are in the Irritrol wireless rain sensor, built along the mini-clik lines
Good idea. We rarely have that kind of freezing weather out here but I have had one of the 'trol wireless rain/freeze sensors fail on the freeze side before. If it's in an area that might freeze and cause problems (commercial) I'll wire in a wired freeze to be safe.
