Rust removal system for a residential sprinkler on a well

I just moved into a newer house and the sprinkler system is on a well...which is great for the watering bills, BUT it leaves rust stains all over. On the house , landscaping and especially the driveway.

I know systems exist ...what have you used / recommend?

I found a great product to remove the rust from the surfaces...just need a system to prevent this from happening again.

Rid-o-rust http://www.ridorust.net/ is very popular in this area. It simply neutralizes the iron color in the water. Usually add 1 qt. of formula to a 30gal. tank of water. This amount will last for 30 hours of pump run time.

I've seen rid-0-rust systems work well.

Expensive on the larger places.

I'm familiar with the formula 2000.

Ive had 3 quotes so far for the canister media back wash filters....3500, 2600 and 1650.00...Jeepers !!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's spraying water on the house something needs to be changed. maybe also with the driveway though some runoff might be inevitable, if it's running off due to low head drainage use check valve heads.

I haven't dealt with rust issues but these folks have helped me out with RO and UV.

Rid-o-rust makes a stain remover http://www.ridorust.net/page03.html. Formula 2000 is more of a maintenance application.

We deal with nasty mineral-rich water on a daily basis. Rid-O-Rust is the best product we've found for treating well water.

Be sure to add some bleach to hold down on algae growth in the tank. I've used a pool floater with a 1" chlorine tab in the past with good success.
