I'd be dragging out the VOM and checking incoming line voltage. That hum is the solenoid trying to fire, prolly going to show 12 volts.

Could be the heat down here; I wondered who would ask, leave it to you, my old friend. Something bothers me about that hum, as soon as I sober up, maybe I'll have a better explanation, or you will. :drinkup::waving:

Yes I could do that. I suspect it is the wire though. I had to go through a couple of spare wires to find one that would transmit enough to work.
The Irrigation Gods smile when spare wire exists. :clapping:
