St Petersburg, FL, Full Sun
Four years after laying Captiva and poof! Looks like Gray Leaf Spot to me.
Fertilized once in February with palm fert and then again in May with Millorganite, Also used half rate Dimension every 6 weeks. Tried a couple of application of Cleary's 3336 fungicide beginning a couple of months ago, but that didn't stop the onslaught.
Time to start over. So many questions.
First the underlying soil has always been soft and mushy. It seems to retain water. Days after rains my lawn is still draining down the curb. I can press my heal into it 2 inches. It feels like a wet sponge. There is some slope to it. Is this muck that should be replaced with sand before laying more sod?
I'm afraid there will be disease carry over to a new sod I lay with any of the the St Augustines, especially Floratam. Time to try Zoysia, Empire, Jamur?
