What length trailer?

im looking to add a 10-12ton deck over tag trailer because more often than not I need the excavator and skidsteer both on a job. And making two trips isn't making me any more money.

But I'm not sure on the length I need to look for.

My equipment currently is:

Tak tb125
Bobcat t590

Within the next year and half I want to upgrade to a E50/305 sized excavator so keep that in mind because I don't want to be trailer hunting again after I just bought a new machine.

Any ideas?

Why not look at a deck truck with a single axle? I see more companies running around with those than a truck/trailer combo.

JR Landworks has a super sexy Hook Lift truck. I plan on having one in a few years.

Maybe one day, but that doesn't fit in my budget right now.

A trailer is a cheaper investment and within the next year I plan on buying a new/newer excavator and hopefully getting a triaxle dump on the road.

A truck with a flatbed thats 25' long to fit both machines on wouldn't be practical. I would get a 25' overall minimum Junior, if you can get 25' of deck and another 5' of dovetail that would work.

I have a new winston 10 ton tag, 20+5 ft long. I haul a T190 and E35 on it and it takes up the whole deck with the boom hanging over the dovetail. You'd be hard pressed to get a E50 and T590 on a 20 ft deck without parking in the loader bucket or something. If I could do it again I would've got one a little longer but I didn't want to special order and wait a few months.

My new gooseneck is 25' deck plus 5' dovetail. I wouldn't go any shorter than that for two machines.

A guy here runs a 7500 Kodiak with a flatbed dump, pulls a 20+5 tag and moved a 259 and I think 305.

But he has ramps built to go from the trailer to the truck and that's where he hauls the 259.

I'd rather not tie up the back of my truck. And then if your down a truck your hard pressed to get your stuff on the trailer.

We have a 20' deck over 20k trailer. 5' dovetail I think. We have a tl140 and a Deere 50d that we move together at times, it's tight and likely over weight too. Lots of times I will put the bucket from the skid in the truck to make space. In a perfect world I would have it 5' longer, and add some weight capacity for good measure, but it's a very nice trailer and in good shape, I doubt I'll be replacing it anytime soon.

Does your 4700 have air brakes? I couldn't imagine having electric brakes on a trailer that size.
