Kaw. says 2.2 qts.
http://www.kawasakienginesusa.com/engines/fs/fs730v

There was a recent thread about this I think but I can't find it.

I can only fit 50 oz. (with new filter & yes the filter is full) in mine, with the level to the full mark on the dipstick, with the cap sitting on the threads.

I swear I measured correctly! :)
Gonna do it again in 50 hrs.
I'm on my fourth oil change.
Think I'm goin' nuts! :)

Discovered this at the 8 hr. (or 10?) oil change.
I way-overfilled it that first time dumping in about two qts.
I wish I would have measured that first drain-out volume; had to be less than 2.2 qts!

2.1 quarts equals 67 ounces. But even at that 67-50=17 oz that need to be accounted for.
Are you using an OEM filter or an aftermarket?
Using the JD OEM #AM125424.

I have just discovered that the measuring container I've been using isn't right.
It must be labeled per Valor herbicide ratios?
I just measured eight oz., poured it into this Valor container & it reads app. six ozs.

Crikey, this is nuts ain't it?
That would account for a lot of the difference but still doesn't get me up to about 70 oz.

Oh well, never mind eric!
I'll throw all these Valor containers away & see what happens next oil change. :)
Crazy.... I'm gonna go take a nap...

Hey eric, I didn't look but do you know if Kaw. OEM filter is larger than the one Deere uses maybe?

The service label on the frame of the ztr (Deere 665) says 2.2 qts.

Don't rely on blind measurements.
Record how much it takes to put it to the full mark.
That's how much it'll take next time.
Capacities are 'nominal" and you don't get ALL of the old oil drained out.

Most 1 qt. oil containers have marks on the side showing how much is left in the bottle.

Bill, I cant tell you how many cars i have checked the oil level on only to find it way above full. Most people who perform oil changes don't wait for all of the oil to come out before buttoning up the drain plug. Then they put in what the "book" says and never check the stick. People dont measure either what came out or what is required to get the level to full. I got my wifes new car back from the dealer after its first oil change with the oil level above full. I brought it back to the dealer and they had to drain almost a quart to get the level correct.

Thanks Bill!
My 10w-30 is coming out of bulk jugs so I just gotta move to a different meas. container.

I was gonna measure what I drained out at this last change, but I used too small of catch container & ran it over! :)
I probably would've used that Valor meas. container so I'd of been wrong anyway.

Fifth time's a charm. I'll get this all straightened out next change! :)

Thanks again eric & Bill!
