And that's the word I used to describe my 997r the first time I used it. BEAST! It is very fuel efficient and my mower keeps getting better economy the more I use it. The power is second to none and of course that famous Deere cut quality is there. Let us know what you think after a few days of use.

Thanks! Gonna have to buy some tomorrow. Any other tips on maintaining the mower in great working condition?
Don't over / under grease your spindles for sure

Go by manual way I service all my M units which may differ from yalls big rigs

50hrs oil change

Air elements "AS NEEDED"

50 hrs couple squirts of grease in spindles I have the large grease gun I just shoot one in front casters it is enough

Fuel filters I buy in bulk and chunk them every 25hrs or so keep it filtering that ethanol

Other than that blade belts as needed I need one now I fell asleep after I ate my sleeps jacked mine is frayed I tried a Stens to see how it held up boy that belt sucked lol

Oh you guys and your 997's envy much Thumbs Up looks awesome :)

Can't beat a Deere
I found that to be true! I did all that cutting in roughly 2 hours and a bit more. With only a quarter of fuel used. Being impressed is not the word I'd give for the mower.

Luckily Uncle Sam helps out with new business owners. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible to purchase it. It's a lot of work getting everything started though.

I always read the ops manuals front to back because there are always good tips and things that you will not know about otherwise. I read every ops manual I get whether for a trimmer or a CUT, makes no difference.

This is the old customer yard I put on YT me cutting in the rain showing that moron geektofreak and his girlfriend Jeremy how a Deere didn't clump.

They started all kind of crap on there when I was on over me and JD mowers those 2 are nut jobs.

It's got clippings on top but was 2nd cut getting back into shape there was a ton of dry brown globs of grass from him mowing with half broke rider this year. I use to lay it down nice on this yard first pic was when I use to cut it

Definitely adhere to the owners manual and that beast will last a long time. There is a copy of the manual online that I keep on my phone. Just a couple of things that I do: I feel that 250 hours is a little long for an oil change. I would go no more than 200 hours. And I put three shots of grease in each spindle every 25 hrs. I have NEVER had to change a spindle on my Deere mowers. Use the recommended lawn and grounds care grease from John Deere.
