we have a TruckCraft 7' steel insert dumper in a '00 2500 Chev. the first load we ever had in it was 3 tons of #3 stone. that first load scratched most of the paint on the floor of the bed and began to rust shortly thereafter. of course its just surface rust and would go away w/ the next load of anything.

that being said, about a month after we installed it, i took it down to Line-X and had it coated. since then, many more loads of rock, mulch, leaves, etc., have been in there and its not even scratched.

also, we run a set of Hellwig progressive rate helper springs in the rear for those loads where she might be a little overloaded.

I had my new V box coated with Line-X after having my P/U coated nearly three years ago and NO signs of wear at all after two winters, about 160 tons of salt and two summers of alot of hauling before I added my Dump truck.

I think even if I had the TC-120 I would still coat it with Line-X just to avoid the dent, scrapes, and gouging.

Hi Guys,

Question: does anybody make a liftgate that works in conjunction with a dump insert?

Thanks in advance!
