Hey man, I'll be down your way next week / weekend for the EMS symposium. I'm not an EMS guy but a couple of the other guys I work with at the fire department are using it for a golf trip! You should come grab a cold one with us one night.
We are staying at the Portsmouth Waterside Renaissance and I'm not sure where the symposium is, all I know is it's somewhere "across the water" because we have to take a water taxi over. Is the Portsmouth Waterside Renaissance a decent hotel?
I'm from Roanoke and work for the Salem Fire Department.
Shrock are you a FF also?
Sorry to interrupt your thread Truitt, the work is looking nice!
no prob dude. "across the water' is Norfolk im a fire fighter in the downtown district in norfolk. station 1. that hotel is pretty nice i think i have never stayed there.
yes it is paid. we actually have 3 separate departments in the roanoke valley, there is Roanoke City which is the biggest with 11 stations, i work in salem which is a small "ritzy" city that borders roanoke city and we have 3 stations (only 12.2 square miles) and both ronaoke city and salem are within ronaoke county which has about 15 stations, but they are pretty rural and are still a mixture of paid / vollie.
